How to Remove a Car Wrap Safely

Start with heat, not force

Cold vinyl tears and leaves adhesive. Warm the panel evenly with a heat gun on a moderate setting until the film becomes flexible. Lift a corner with a plastic card, then pull at a low angle.

Work panel by panel

Remove one section at a time. Keep the film warm as you go. If resistance spikes, add heat instead of yanking.

Clean adhesive residue correctly

Use a dedicated adhesive remover safe for automotive paint, then wash and inspect. Avoid metal scrapers.

Paint health checklist before wrapping again

• No peeling clear coat
• No deep rust
• No soft or bubbling paint

Vinyl protects healthy paint. It will not repair failing clear coat.
